Privacy Policy
Vintage Group of Companies (“Vintage”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.
Information we collect
We collect information you voluntarily give us when you:
- Submit a quote request through this website (name, company, email, phone, freight details)
- Contact us by email or other means
- Apply for a position with us (resume, references, work history)
- Subscribe to operational notifications related to a shipment
We also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit the site — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar data needed to operate and secure the website. We use cookies for essential site function and, with your consent, for analytics.
How we use your information
- To respond to quote requests and operate freight you book with us
- To communicate about shipments, invoices, and account matters
- To improve our website, services, and customer experience
- To comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising without your explicit consent.
Sharing your information
We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us run the website and email (e.g., Resend for transactional email, Crisp for live chat)
- Carriers and partners required to physically move your freight
- Government agencies and customs authorities as required by law
- Legal advisors when necessary to protect our rights
Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law. Quote requests that don't result in booking are retained for two years for capacity-planning purposes.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Withdraw consent for non-essential data processing
- Request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention requirements
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
To exercise any of these rights, email info@vintagesc.com.
Cookies and third-party tools
We use a small number of cookies and third-party scripts. We group them in two categories:
- Essential. Required for the site to function (e.g., remembering your cookie-consent choice, basic security). These are always on and not subject to consent.
- Optional (consent-gated). Loaded only after you click “Accept all” on the consent banner. This currently includes:
- Crisp — live chat. Crisp stores a session identifier so we can reply to your messages and so you don’t have to repeat yourself between visits. See crisp.chat/en/privacy.
- Google Analytics 4 — usage analytics. Used to understand which pages visitors find useful. IP addresses are anonymized. (Will be added in a future release.)
If you click “Necessary only” or never make a choice, optional scripts do not load. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser’s storage for this site or by emailing us at info@vintagesc.com.
Security
We use HTTPS encryption, secure password practices, and access controls appropriate for a small business handling commercial freight data. We do not store payment information — invoicing is handled outside this site.
Children
This site is intended for business use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
